Onyeka Onwenu put smiles on the faces of people affected by Boko
Haram insurgency when she visited the IDPs camp in Adamawa state as the
Director General National Centre for Women Development.
The elegant stallion as Onwenu is popularly called took time out of her
busy schedule to visit the Internally Displaced People’s (IDPs) camp in
Damare, Yola on Tuesday September, 29 2015.
She was accompanied by Director Relief and Rehabilitation of the
National Emergency Management Agency (NEMA) Mr Ezeh Udemezue and Country
Representative of the UNHCR Ms Angele Dikongue-Atangana to the camp
where they presented some relief materials to the IDPs.
Onwenu did not forget her primary constituency as she without a
microphone brought smiles to the faces of the women in the camp when she
sang and danced with them and this will leave and indelible mark in the
memory of the women while in camp.
The team also paid a courtesy call on the Deputy Governor of Adamawa State Mr Martins Babale
The veteran Nigerian singer, songwriter, X Factor series judge cum politician is the first entertainer to pay a courtesy visit to President Muhammadu Buhari in Aso Rock, Abuja and the presidency shared her visit on their Twitter handle on August 19,2015.
