Gospel Tungba singer Yinka Ayefele was attacked on Saturday, October 3, in Ondo state by
area boys over ‘traditional fee cut’ always given to them by artists.
In the aftermath of the attack, the gospel singer slumped this morning,
Monday, October 5 in Ekiti where he had gone to perform for the World
Teachers Day celebration.
The gospel singer was in Ekiti on the invitation of the state governor, Ayo Fayose.
He has being hospitalised in an undisclosed hospital.
When his media manager was called, David Ajiboye,he confirmed the report.
Ajiboye said: “Truly he slumped while in Ekiti and it was as a result of a plank thrown at him while on stage in Ijare Ekiti performing during the burial of late Madam Ebunoluwa Lydia Odumakinde by hoodlums. The plank actually hit him on the chest but he did not complain of any pain until he slumped today.
“We never took the plank thrown at him serious as he was himself after it hit him on his chest. We was alright at all through yesterday. I spoke to you earlier on today from Ekiti and we were together here. If he had shown any sign of ill-health we wouldn’t have come to Ekiti at all as health is wealth.”
Ayefele is recuperating in an undisclosed hospital.
After the attack, Ayefele’s 2015 Ford Explorer and a truck conveying his newly acquired customised musical equipment worth N150million were vandalized.
