It was goals galore with Liverpool breaking their record at the Etihad
by thumping Manchester city at home, Arsenal lost their six games
unbeaten run to West Brom and Chelsea stopping the rot of three straight
defeats with a much needed win at Stamford bridge.
SWANSEA 2-2 BOURNEMOUTH
Bournemouth
squandered a two goal lead, frustrating the manager Eddie Howe,
especially for a perceived injustice of a dubious penalty award. With a
chance to end their five game losing run with a win, by racing to a two
goal lead. It’s no surprise fun for a team with such brittle confidence
after a long run of defeats.
King
scored the first, Dan Gosling the second, 87 seconds after when Andre
Ayew’s instinctive back-heel reduced the deficit. Jonjo Shelvey hauled
Swansea level when he converted from the spot.

EVERTON 4-0 ASTON VILLA
Villa
slumped to a heavy defeat in Remi Garde’s second game in charge. Romelu
Lukaku’s brace took his goal tally to 10 in all competitions this
season, becoming only the fifth player to reach 50 Premier League goals
before turning 23 in the process.
Ross
Barkley started the onslaught with a far post finish after Brad Guzan’s
parry from the dazzling Deulofeu . Lukaku headed the second. Barkley’s
second but Everton third was a simple tap-in, with the fourth scored by
Lukaku, a courtesy of a fine team passing play.

MANCHESTER CITY 1-4 LIVERPOOL
A
shambolic defensive display by the home team ensured a comprehensive
victory for the rampant Liverpool, ending a run of six matches without a
win at city.
A
defensive howler by Elaquin Mangala scoring an own goal in the process.
Liverpool capitalised on the dreadful defensive pairing of Mangala and
Demichelis, with Coutinho scoring the second of the match, his fourth in
five premier league games. Roberto Firmino added a third with a
sensational strike to make it three.
Sergio
Aguero pulled one back with a brilliant strike to cut down the deficit
for City shortly before the interval. Martin Skrtel made the scoreline
comprehensive nine minutes from time with a rasping shot at the edge of
the box, denying City the opportunity to take sole ownership of top
spot in the Premiership with Arsenal stuttering.

NEWCASTLE 0-3 LEICESTER
Leicester
striker Jamie Vardy not only equaled Ruud Van Nisterooy’s record of
scoring in 10 consecutive Premier League games, but also surpassed it by
becoming the first man to do it in a season with his goal at the stroke
of half-time prompting Newcastle fans to join the applause for him.
Hapless Newcastle, with probably their worst performance of the season so far, as declared by the manager McClaren: “No
excuses, our worst performance of the season. We’ve been progressing
but today was a setback. It’s a big blow. It’s a case of two steps
backwards at the moment, it’s not easy,” McClaren said to the BBC Sport.

WEST BROM 2-1 ARSENAL
Arsenal’s
six match unbeaten run in the Premiership was ended in a dramatic
fashion when after gifting West Brom the lead with Arteta own goal.
Cazorla wasted the chance to draw level by slipping when presented with a
penalty opportunity.
Arsenal
deservedly took the lead through Olivier Giroud because of their early
dominance. However, West Brom responded well to Arsenal’s lead with
James Morrison finding he net from Chris Brunt’s free kick. Arteta’s
deflected cross gifted West Brom all the three points, moving up to 12th
and demoting the Gunners to forth.

CHELSEA 1-0 NORWICH
Diego
Costa scored his third Premier League goal of the season to end
Chelsea’s disastrous run of three straight Premier league defeats but
also missed several chances to pull Chelsea out of sight. Norwich
rallied late on and could have snatched an equaliser.
Mourinho was a relieved man: “It was bit of relief” he admitted to BBC sport.
“I’m not nervous on the bench. I am Ok, I am fine. I think we don’t
deserve the heartbeat of the last few minutes, I think we deserve to be
enjoying the last three, four minutes with a two, three, 4-0 result,
relaxed but we couldn’t,” He lamented.

WATFORD 1-2 MANCHESTER UNITED

calamitous Troy Deeney’s own goal just before the final whistle handed
the three points to Manchester United. Watford captain, Troy Deeney

Memphis
Depay put United ahead from Herrera’s bending cross by cushioning a

Krkic of Stoke. It was the third goal for the former Barcelona forward,

TOTTENHAM 4-1 WEST HAM
Tottenham
Hotspur thoroughly outclassed their London counterpart at the White
Hart lane with Harry Kane scoring a brace while Toby Alderweireld and
Kyle Walker also netted.
Spurs
were so dominant they could have scored a couple more. Lanzini’s goal
flattered West Ham who were so poor and capitulated after conceding the
first goal.
