Governor Idris Wada of Kogi state
In a statement made available to our reporter, PDP said Tinubu is not God nor is Kogi Lagos.
“He is not God, neither is our state Lagos where one man is more powerful than the state. The only powerful people here are you Kogites,”PDP said.
The statement added: “No godfather rules Kogi State. Kogi State is bigger than any single individual or group of people. You kogites will determine the political destiny of Capt. Idris Wada on Saturday and not some power thirty godfather from Lagos or group of Lagos business men who see politics as an avenue of investment.
“No human being outside this state no matter how highly placed, powerful or rich can determine what will happen here on Saturday. Kogi people will guard their votes with their lives.
“Tell the godfather from Lagos that it is he who is a joker & that Kogites are not slaves,” the statement ended.
Meanwhile, Professor Mahmood Yakubu, the chairman of Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), had vowed that the gubernatorial election in Kogi will be free and fair, pointing out that only the state electorates will be deciding the next governor.
PDP has also cautioned the APC-led federal government and the police against unlawful harassment and detention of its members.
