AFCON 2015: Mutiu Adepoju’s Message To Dream Team Ahead Of Semi-final

     Mutiu Adepoju
The present Dream Team renowned for conceding silly goals when they are ahead and Adepoju has tasked coach Samson Siasia to repackage the team ahead of the semi-final berth against hosts Senegal.

He told SportingSun: “Well, the semifinal match against Senegal is certainly going to be tough because the Senegalese are more energetic and stronger than the Nigerian players. They have to take the game to them and go all out for mass attack and mass defence. I hope to see a totally repackaged team against Senegal.”

Adepoju’s response to being aked to assess the performance of the team so far in the tournament showed the former attacker was impressed with the team ‘s attacking powers but dissappointed with the defensive lapses.
He said: “I will say that they have tried so far especially scoring goals in the first half during their first two games but I don’t really like the idea of their allowing the teams to cancel two goals in the second half. It does not say well of a good team. They have to work on this if they want to win the game against Senegal. They must approach that game with different mentality.”
The on-going U-23 African Nations Cup serves as the qualifiers for next year’s 2016 Olympics with the top three teams grabbing African tickets.
The Flying Eagles face Senegal in the semi-final to be played on Wednesday, December 8th.
