Can we meet THE CYMBALS?

The Cymbals Dance Crew is a professional body in the art of entertainment; ‘Dance’ Basically… It is regarded as one of the most accomplished and successful dance groups in Nigeria. It features 3 young and vibrant talented individuals who are driven by the passion to promote dance as an art and the inevitable happiness derived from practicing it..It was established by Agboola Olatundun.

When did you guys conceive the idea of the group?

No trumpet sounds when the greatest decisions of our lives are made. The idea to establish a dance team has been a childhood dream for Agboola Olatundun although he had to allow himself to be rooted, grounded and trained by experts in the same field before officially launching out in september 1 2013

For how long have you guys been together?

We’ve been together as a team since September 1 2013.

Are you three related in anyway?

No, we are not.

If no, how did you three meet?

Uhmmm, lets answer believing the ultimate agency which predetermines the course of events in life, which is simply called FATE brought us together.

What will happen to the group eventually when you all get married ?

In a recent interview with the Nigerian Tribune we answered this question saying “Marriage isnt a cage which takes away your freedom. Marriage is simply the state of being husband and wife. We’ll dance till our bones deny us the freedom to.Cymbals will live on even when we are no more.

How easy is it as youngsters to maintain the group?

To be honest it hasnt been easy. Anything in life that comes fast and easy would leave just as fast . The process of maintenance has to be mastered and respected and only someone who doesnt know where he/she is going in life would desire things fast and easy. All the challenges we’ve faced and the ones yet to come is part of the process we all need to go through in achieveing a successful team. The fact that we’re youngsters has made it more complicated because some clients tend to think we do not understand the business aspect of our talent. Simultaneously, if size mattered, the elephant would be the king of the jungle. Our determination, Passion and the absolutely necessary grace of God has really helped. Anonymously speaking,”if you think you’re too young to make a difference, try sleeping in a room with mosquitoes”..

What’s your driving force as a group?

There’s a saying “you are as good as your last performance”.. what we try to do is improve on a daily basis so we can be better than who we were yesterday.

What has been your greatest challenge as a group?

Uhmmmm, kickstarting the team with zero sponsors and capital. We thank God for where we are today

What has been your greatest benefits in dancing?

The ability to make it a career suitable enough to earn a living.

What dance line are you guys into?

Hip hop and afrobeat basically ….

Who is your role model as a group?

We look up to God and we model ourselvels.

In Nigeria today, we have so many dance groups around, which do you see as the most challenging and worthy competition?

None. I believe we are all promoting the value of dance .. we are all unique in our different ways.

… and your biggest stage is ?

Mtn Project Fame Show and Ovation Red Carol.

What’s your best performance?

To us, we’re as good as our last performance.

We learnt that the leader of this group is into music, can u give us a little light on that?

Yes am into music and currently signed to rock n rule records but we are still trying to get the structure together.

A reliable source made us understood that you had a thing with the dance group ‘EXPLICIT’ and that you left to own yours. Why did u leave?

I left because i wanted to establish something of my own, fulfil and live my own dreams and give others permission to shine through my light.

We heard you are opening a barbing salon soon. Is that true?

Yes am opening a barbing salon pretty soon ‘The Cymbals Barbing Salon’….details coming soon.
