After a couple of speculations and unconfirmed reports, Nollywood actress Funke Akindele, 39, earlier this month verified that she is indeed dating pop artiste JJC.
Such a move is rare for the popular actress who has been very low key about her relationships in the past.
Funke Akindele a.k.a Jenifa shared a photo of her in bed with the JJC on her SnapChat. Before the revelation the pair attended the 2016 Africa Magic Viewers Choice Awards together.
Prior to these actions Funke Akindele hasn't said anything about her relationship with the singer/producer.
In
February, 2016 there were reports that JJC had proposed to the popular
actress and she said yes. Before JJC, Funke Akindele had only been
associated with two men, actor Femi Adebayo and her former husband Kehinde Oloyede.
Funke Akindele got married to Kehinde 'Almaroof' Oloyede on May 26, 2012. Unfortunately on July 15, 2013 it was announced that Funke Akindele's marriage had crashed.
Popular
actor Femi Adebayo was rumoured to have dated Funke Akindele. Both
parties have denied these rumours. Now the man who has the heart of
Funke Akindele is the artist and producer known as JJC Skillz. Who is
he?
JJC’s real name is Abdul Rasheed Bello.
He is 38 years old and was born on April 4. JJC was living in London
from since 1991. Prior to living in England he grew up in Kano state.
In the city of London, JJC developed an interest in music and
entertainment.
“Originally Big Brovaz was the
name of my company. Growing up my brother, my big brother he bought me
my first turntable, and taught me how to DJ.
“He bought me my first computer Atari, and taught
me how to produce. So big brother meant everything to me when it came
to my music. He bought me my first a karaoke box set where I had lyrics
of songs.
“I took on board what my
brother did for me, and called my company Big Brova. So I started
looking for artistes in London, and I started becoming their big brother” said JJC during an interview with Pulse in 2015.
Over
a decade ago JJC was extremely popular in London deejaying in parties
and releasing popular mixes. He soon formed two groups JJC & 419 Squad and Big Brovaz.
The group Big Brovaz in 2002 scored a major hit with the track ‘Nu Flow’. The group later disbanded.
JJC’s
second group JJC & 419 Squad would have a strong impact on Nigerian
music years later. The group was made of several artistes including D’banj and Don Jazzy.
In 2004 JJC dropped his the first album with 419 Squad called ‘Atide’. In 2012 he released his first solo album called ‘African Dream’. Last year his third album ‘Skillz’.
JJC was rumoured to be dating veteran Nigerian actress Kate Henshaw before going out with Funke Akindele.
With
the confirmation of their relationship it seems Funke Akindele and JJC
are heading to the altar. The two have been working close together on
movies. Are they going to be the next power couple in Nigeria?
