Truck is swallowed by huge sinkhole in Colombia (photos)

A truck driver in the city of Barranquilla, northern Colombia got the shock of his life when the ground suddenly opened up swallowing the truck he was driving. Luckily for him, it was only partially submerged and the driver's side remained above ground.

The driver said: "The road caved in as I was turning round the corner, I was bumped around but nothing serious."

When asked what the owner of the truck had said the driver responded that he seemed unconcerned about the driver and was mainly worried about the money. He said: "He is waiting for news from the insurance people."
