The Vice-Chancellor of the Federal University of Agriculture, Abeokuta, FUNAAB, Prof. Olusola Oyewole, along with two others, have been arraigned in court on an 18-count charge of financial misappropriation.
The VC as well as the institution’s Pro-Chancellor, Adeseye Ogunlewe, and bursar, Moses Ilesanmi, were arraigned on Friday, November 25, by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC.
Daily Post reports that EFCC operatives drove the three suspects to the High Court 6 in Abeokuta, Ogun State.
According to the reports, the presiding judge, O.O Majekodunmi, stepped down the matter allowing the counsels to resolve their differences over service.
As earlier reported, members of the Senior Staff Association of Nigerian Universities, SSANU, in FUNNAB, earlier this month, shut down the university in protest,
calling for the probe of the activities of the institution's management
under the leadership of Oyewole by the Federal Government.
