Adebayo Timilehin, a student of the University of Ibadan, who was attacked and shot by armed robbers, has now died.
The University of Ibadan lost one of its Sociology students, Adebayo Timilehin, a 400-level happy kid, joker, and all round people’s guy.
“Timi was a born leader,” a friend said. “In fact, he contested to lead the Student Representative Council in secondary school.”
He won.
Winning
that position was a big deal in his secondary school. “Sometimes,” his
friend added, “I got into trouble in school, and he stood by me then
till I got out of it.”
One thing Timi loved music
very much. He rapped when he could, and supported his friends in the
arts when he couldn’t. Whether it was a young producer, or someone who
just wanted to make music, Timi was their guy.
In the second week of
January, he was robbed in Lagos along with his friend. But his friend
survived, while he suffered gunshot wounds and passed away on Wednesday
25th of January, 2017.
He was buried on Thursday, a day after his passing.
He will be remembered for being a true friend, most of all, for anybody who needed a shoulder.
Adebayo Timilehin died at 20. He would have graduated from the University of Ibadan by the end of 2017.
