A French-Canadian student has been charged over the fatal shooting of six Muslim worshippers at a mosque in Quebec, Canada.
Alexandre Bissonnette, 27, was charged with six counts of first-degree murder and five of attempted murder.
Vigils have been held across Canada in commemoration of the deceased and injured.
The incident occurred during evening prayers at the Quebec Islamic Cultural Centre on the evening of Sunday, January 29.
Over 50 people wCere said to be at the mosque when the shooting began.
Nineteen
people were wounded - all men - and of five people still in the
hospital, two were in a critical condition, BBC reports.
It was gathered that a man of Moroccan heritage, Mohamed Khadir, who was also arrested after the attack is now being treated as a witness.
