The Governor of the Central Bank of Nigeria has shunned the House of Reps committee investigating the huge sum of money that was recently discovered in an apartment in Ikoyi.
According to reports, the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) discovered over $44m.
Emefiele, in a letter, told the lawmakers that it will be a breach of the National Security Agencies Act to appear before them.
The CBN Governor also told the lawmakers that he is not allowed by the Act to discuss security issues publicly.
The chairman of the House Committee on National Security and Intelligence, Aminu Sani-Jaji said “This CBN governor doesn’t even know that there is something called separation of powers.”

Members of the committee also expressed their displeasure at the refusal of the CBN Governor to honour their invitation.
Emefiele also told the lawmakers that the issue of the Ikoyi loot has already been investigated by the Osinbajo led panel.
