Milli was signed in 2013 to MI’s Loopy Music, became an official Choc Boy artist in 2015 after the merger of Loopy Music and Chocolate City Music. But as it would turn out, Milli had a fall out in 2016 with Chocolate City music label outfit, reason bothering on his dissatisfaction with how the label was handling and promoting his career, detailing the story to Pulse.

Milli on exiting Choc City went ahead to float a self-owned label imprint named Up Next. Under this label, the Hip Hop act released an EP project titled “Don’t Ask Me What Happened”, a passionate and emotionally fueled project that saw Milli  pour himself out in expression of his freedom since leaving his now ex-label, out to prove to himself a point about his caliber of artistry.
"It’s my way of overcoming my fear, stand up for the Art I believe in and move on. I hope I can count on you to have my back and get others to join the #UpNextMovement. The Movement is about the art of good music, and about giving other artists that make “different” sound the courage and strength to BE different, instead of getting frustrated by the industry," Milli said in a statement to the media.

Milli in 2017 lost a part of him so dear- his mum, whom he buried this June. So it was only natural that he would rightly kick off his new project “Childish” EP as a tribute to her on ‘For my mum’ - An emotional one from Milli as he talks about his love for momma and how he misses her.
That event also seemed to have made him have a more forgiving approach to life as he is seen re-uniting with his former label mates at Chocolate City MI and Ice Prince whom he parted with on rather sour terms. Alongside an artist named Camey, Milli, MI and Ice totally aced it on the dope Trap record ‘Flex’.
On the track ‘Monica’, Milli gives us a dance track inspired by a lady interest named ‘Monica’, the song slightly reminiscent of the vibe the rapper gave fans in ‘Wickedest’, except this one sounds more Nigerian with local parlance lingua employed.
‘On God’ has got that good bounce of a Hip Hop track as he prays for fame and success to come the way of him and his crew.
‘Not over you’ sees him bring his emotions to bear as a guy in and out of a failed relationship he didn’t want to end, giving off some cool Drake type of R&B vibe on the track.
The interlude ‘Where do babies come from’ is pretty wavy as instrumentals and tempo interchange on some witty wordplay.
Blessed’ is a hopeful feel good track that rides on a lively beat.
In ‘Baby’, Milli wants the world to know he is thankful for his woman, as he blesses her essence on the track.
Rounding off the project, the rapper makes it clear that he is all about his business on Work’, as he shows again his unique style of rap flow on the record.
“Childish” is a good project with good vibes, great sound of R&B, Hip Hop and Trap, a recipe that should serve both local and foreign markets well.
The rapper, singer, songwriter and producer is coming of age and getting his groove on as he allows himself have fun expressing and doing him no holds barred, just as he had always wanted.
Emotions, Ambition and versatility drives Milli’s undeniable talent as he ironically shows maturity with his attitude to the music in “Childish” EP.
