This might be unbelievable today, but do you know that once upon a time, Olamide almost signed to D’banj’s DB Records?

The year was 2013. Olamide who is regarded as one of Nigeria’s greatest rappers had just released his second studio album, YBNL (Yahoo Boy No Laptop). The album featured guest appearances from Kay Switch, Tiwa Savage, Dammy Krane, Davido, Kidakudz, Reminisce, Base 1, Buckwyla and Minus 2. He already had singles ‘Illefo Illuminati’, ‘First of all’ and ‘Stupid love’ doing damage on the streets, in the clubs and all over dance floors.

This was not the Olamide you know now. He was a younger version of himself, who was winning but not at D’banj’s level.
