Renowned Egyptian actress, singer dies at 86

Egypt's iconic singer and actress Shadia has died at the age of 86 after spending few weeks in a hospital, state television reported on Tuesday, November 28, 2017.

She was admitted into a hospital earlier this month after suffering brain stroke.
Shadia, whose real name is Fatma Shaker, was one of Egypt’s most famous actresses and singers in the 1950 and 1960s.
Born in 1931, she started her career as a singer before starring in more than 100 films, including several political productions based on novels by Egypt’s Nobel laureate Naguib Mahfouz.
She retired in the mid 1980s.

3 reportedly dead in train accident

Three people have reportedly lost their lives after a train derailed at the Abbatoir area of Agege, Lagos State on Thursday, November 16, 2017.
According to a report by The Guardian, the Lagos State police spokesman, Olarinde Famous-Cole, said the train had rammed into a trailer, injuring many people and leaving three of the victims feared dead.
"We just got the information. Our policemen and those attached to the railway command are in control of the situation We shall be able to furnish you with details later please," Famous-Cole said.
The Lagos State Emergency Management Agency (LASEMA) also confirmed the accident.

26 Nigerian girls, women killed at sea
