A growing family dispute involving Nigerian juju music legend King Sunny Ade has sparked widespread concern, following serious allegations made by his daughter, Damilola Adeniyi Adegeye.
In a series of emotional posts shared on Instagram, Damilola accused her step-brother, Dayo—who also serves as the artist’s manager—of abducting the 77-year-old music icon. She claimed the act was carried out with the assistance of Dayo’s mother, his siblings Demola and Kenny, and a driver named Ade.
“King Sunny Ade has been kidnapped. The manager (Dayo) is the culprit, along with his mother, brothers (Demola and Kenny), and the driver, Ade,” she wrote.
Damilola further alleged that her father is being held against his will and forced to continue working under duress, raising alarms about the well-being of one of Nigeria’s most revered musical figures.
