Governor Ayodele Fayose of Ekiti state has described the nationwide anti-corruption rally organised on Thursday September 10 by civil societies to lend their voices, as a mere jamboree and propaganda.
Fayose who accused civil servants as the major promoter of corruption, posited that no government official can steal money without the support or effort of the civil servants.

He mentioned this while addressing a mammoth-crowd who were at the government house immediately after the rally  in Ado Ekiti.
The governor revealed that the issue of corruption is beyond newspapers and noise making as being done by the All Progressives Congress (APC)-led government at the centre.
He called on President Muhammadu Buhari to go after those that sponsored his electioneering campaign, if only the president is serious about his anti-corruption crusade.
Fayose however stated that the president should stop using the noise about corruption as a tool against opposition parties.
‎The Ekiti governor explained that the asset declaration by the president is not a genuine one and also maintained that Mr President cannot say that his mud house and cattle are his assets.

Speaking earlier, the Nigeria Labour Congress (NLC) chairman in Ekiti, Comrade Adeniyi commended the president and his vice, Professor Yemi Osinbajo for the 50% salary cut down and appeal to them to recover all stolen monies and properties.

The labour leaders  attributed non-payment of workers salary  to corrupt practices of state governors, who has gone into heavy borrowing from the banks to carry out huge projects they clearly have no capacity for, and use them as conduit pipes to siphon public funds into their personal pockets.
The labour leaders who came out in their numbers moved from the state secretariat to the state’s House of Assembly through Fajuyi park and ended the rally at the governor’s office where Governor Ayodele Fayose addressed the gathering.
