The Indomitable Lions of Cameroon rejected the Le Meridien Ibom Hotel and Golf Resort in Uyo out of fear of Nigerian witchcraft.
Ahead of the 2018 FIFA World Cup qualifier against host Nigeria on Friday, September 1, the Cameroonian FA FECAFOOT rejected the accommodation arrangement from the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) and made their own.

The Super Eagles of Nigeria always stay at the luxury hotel where the NFF also host the visiting teams.
The Bafana Bafana of South Africa and the Algerians stayed in the same hotel when they came for their games.

The Cameroonians, however, chose to stay at the less glamorous Davok Suites in Ewet Housing Estate.
Asked why they chose a different hotel, an official of the Cameroon FA told Pulse Sports that they did that out of fear of being put under a spell by Nigerian witchcraft.
We don’t trust Nigerians, they might want to use witchcraft on us,” the official whose name we couldn't confirm said.
Some of his colleagues also re-echoed the same sentiment.
The Indomitable Lions are leaving no stone unturned in their bid to avoid contact with their host.
Pulse Sports learnt that the players will go straight to the airport after the game to fly home to Cameroon.

Before the training session, coach Hugo Broos said he is targeting just four points from the double header against Nigeria.
We are four points behind and we know that if we lose, we are finished. We will play a very good game,” Broos told newsmen.
Everybody knows that tomorrow result and that of Monday are very important, I’m not afraid. What I know is that we will not be in the same situation as we were two months in Russia.”
