Lai Mohammed says President under no obligation to reveal medical condition

(Endowed Blogs.)President Muhammadu Buhari returned to Nigeria in late August after more than 100 days away for treatment
The minister of information, Lai Mohammed has said that President Buhari is under no obligation to disclose his medical condition.
The President returned to Nigeria on Monday, September 25, 2017 after a brief stop-over in London for a medical check-up, reports say.

Buhari went to London after attending the 72nd session of the United Nations General Assembly meeting in New York.
Mohammed said although the government of Nigeria is paying for Buhari’s treatment, Nigerians should respect the President’s privacy.
He said “It’s not strange at all for a sitting president to be ill and it’s not strange either for the state to take care of his medical bill.
“I think there’s so much speculation as to what he’s been treated for.
“I think we would rather respect his privacy. If Mr President feels like telling the world his ailment, so be it. I don’t think he’s under an obligation to tell anyone.”
