This follows recent feud between Qatar who
are sponsors of the popular news agancy Aljazeera, and a hos of other
countries that include Saudi Arabia, UAE, Bahrain and Egypt.
Snapchat
said it was asked by the Saudi authorities to remove the Qatari-backed
broadcaster's Discover Publisher Channel because it violated local laws.
Saudi
Arabia has one of the world's most restraining media environments,
according to human rights groups and media freedom advocates.
Saudi Arabia has one of the highest number of smartphone users and social media userbase in the Middle East.
"We make an effort to comply with local laws in the countries where we operate," a Snapchat spokesperson said in a statement.
